Acorn War XX - September 11-13, 2009 in Newberg, Oregon

Please join the Shire of Mountain Edge and friends for our 20th Acorn War!

Armored and rapier fighters, archers, and equestrians - prepare to show your skill! Vie to become our next Shire Archery or Equestrian Defender! Interesting war scenarios, archery all weekend, trails for equestrians and for walking in the forest, on site contests, classes, and activities, and camping around a "village center" with market square, bardic, erics, and main war field close are all part of Acorn War's friendly traditions. The site is discreetly wet, has potable water, and seige engines, RVs and pets are welcome. MerchantsMerchants only need to pay regular gate fees and give a donation to the prize cache! Camping is behind your booth. To sign up for this event as a merchant, please leave information on your total camp and booth space needed (specify the frontage please), Name of  booth, your name, and quick summary of wares to Sunfairy28 AT hotmail DOT com.

Site opens at 12 noon Friday (10AM for merchants) and closes at 6:00PM on Sunday.

Note: $3.00 NMS fee applies to all non-member adult fees.

Site Fees: Camping

Adults: $15.00 Youth (ages 12-17): $10.00 Children (ages 6-11): $7.00 Children 5 and under are free

Family Cap: $45

Day Trip Fees:

Adults: $10 Youth (ages 12-17): $7.00 Children (ages 6-11): $5.00 Children 5 and under are free

Pre-registration Fees (Entire Event Only): Mail By 9/3/09 - Forms on Shire website

Adults: $12.00 Youth (ages 12-17): $8.00 Children (ages 6-11): $4.00 Children 5 and under are free - please list them on the pre-registration form

Pre-registration is required for horses and merchants (there is no merchant fee).

Per-Horse Fee (day trip or weekend): $10 (stalls in lower barn are available; space is available for portable corrals including electric)

Directions to site: make your best way to Interstate 5 south of Wilsonville, OR or north of Woodburn, OR.

I-5 Southbound: proceed south to exit 278 (Donald-Aurora), turn right at stop sign (Ehlen Rd) and proceed west to Hwy 219 (a "T" intersection). Turn right onto Hwy 219 (towards Newberg). Follow Hwy 219 through Newberg and up Chehalem Mountain (very winding, do not take the left turn onto Bald Peak Rd. about half way up) to the intersection with Mountain Top Rd (just past the hairpin turn). Turn left on Mountain Top Rd. (gravel) and proceed 2.1 miles (bearing left at the intersection with Jacquith Rd) to turn right at the drive next to the white board fence. SCA signs will be posted.
