You are invited to the arts and sciences event that breaks the mold! Arts Unframed is an open forum for teaching, learning, displaying, demonstrating, performing, sharing, meeting people, working on projects, and whatever else you can devise.

September 30, 2017 9am-5pm


Fees: Adult Site Fee - $15, $5 discount for members; Children and Youth under 18 – Free Entrance; Lunch - $5

Laurel Scavenger Hunt: Find and talk to Laurels on site to broaden your contacts and knowledge. Collect their signatures to earn a prize!

Arts and Sciences Consultation: Talk to experts in various arts about your research, interests, works in progress, or potential projects. This is a great opportunity to get feedback and advice for possible A&S competition entries!

Hands-On Area Artisans will share their skills with you by letting
you give their craft a try!

Display, Demonstrate, Teach: All artisans and researchers of any level are invited to display their work and skills. A display could be as simple or as complex as you wish. A demonstration can last for 15 minutes or all day. Teach others a skill if you want, at whatever depth or time you wish.

Perform: Performers are invited to practice, try out new works, or share a favorite. An area will be available for performances all day.

Book Sharing: Bring three books to share and, if you feel comfortable doing so, leave them in the supervised book area for others to browse. Consider bringing either the “Bible” of your art that everyone should be familiar with, or those rare treasures that few of us would usually have the chance to enjoy.

Work on Projects: Use the central open space to work on projects, chat, and just hang out!

A lovely lunch by Lady Sofia will be on offer for just $5 Here is a tentative menu:

Soup of Lentils and Apricots
Soup of Pork Meatballs and Apples
Salad of Greens
Assorted Breads: Sourdough, Rye, Multigrain with Seeds
A GF Bread with Seeds
Herbed Farmer’s Cheese 
Melon Salad

Soups and Salads will be gluten free

From the North:  Take I-5 to where it meets I-405 south of Seattle.  Take the exit to I-405 North (to Bellevue), which is on the left-hand side of the freeway.  Take exit 2, Hwy 167 South. Take Hwy 167 to the second exit, which is 212th St. Take 212th St. east.  It will go up a hill, curve left and become 208th Street.  The school will be on the left after you pass the stoplight at 124th Ave.  The school is over a block long.  Pass the ENTIRE school before turning left into the parking lot.  Be careful; there are two driveways very close to each other.  The first goes into the bus loop that passes in front of the entire school.  You want the second, which goes into the east parking lot. 

From the South:  Take I-5 to exit 142 A onto Highway 18 headed East/North to Auburn.  Go down the winding hill to the Highway 167 exits.  Take Highway 167 North (be careful not to miss the exit if the day is sunny and you're distracted by the breathtaking view of Mt. Rainer).  Stay on Hwy 167 for about 10 miles to reach Renton.  Take Hwy 167 to the 212th St. exit. Take 212th St. east.  It will go up a hill, curve left and become 208th Street.  The school will be on the left after you pass the stoplight at 124th Ave.  The school is over a block long.  Pass the ENTIRE school before turning left into the parking lot.  Be careful; there are two driveways very close to each other.  The first goes into the bus loop that passes in front of the entire school.  You want the second, which goes into the east parking lot.
