Egil Skallagrimmson Memorial Tournament

May 22, 2015 to May 25, 2015
Adiantum

Eugene, OR

Autocrat: Godwyn Reynard

Come join the Barony of Adiantum in celebrating the 41st annual Egil Skallagrimsson Memorial tournament over Memorial Day weekend.

Competitions include the traditional heavy combat Holmgang and the double elimination prize tourney. Rapier fighting includes prize tourneys and melee scenarios. We will have three days of archery activities with both traditional and creative scenarios. Our thrown weapons range features prize competitions for axe, knife, and spear. Play Norse stick-ball or enter the Norse wrestling competition. Artisans can compete in the brewing, decorated useful object and costuming contests. Finally those who wish to serve can compete in hours spent helping the event to run. Want to prove your well-rounded set of skills? Enter the Three Pillars competition, where the rewards go to those who best embody all three aspects of our society.

Three Pillars is a multi-part weekend long event designed to test how skilled a competitor is in all areas of the SCA.  Based around the three pillars of the society; marshal prowess, artistic skill, and dedication to service, the winner of the competition will have shown that they are a true renaissance person. New this year will be a Preserved Foods competition and a Heraldic Display competition.
