Masked Ball

Welcome to the Spring Ball

“It will be held Saturday April 26th, Doors open at 1:00 pm, and will go to 11 pm.
Place will be the Eastern Star hall at 3281 Harriet street.
Price is 10 dollars at the door.  “

“Hear ye, Hear ye “calls the herald. “Come one, come all, to a Masked Ball “he smiles at the reaction “Yes, you heard correctly, a Spring Ball with the Duck and Drake Tavern within the Barony of Seagirt.

Costumes, you ask, It is encouraged of course, but we understand not all will have them, so come as you are, and join in the fun as we are welcoming newcomers to our event !

Starting at 1pm, there will be a number of experienced costumers and Officers of the branch who will make themselves available to answer questions and work with people.  We will also have an informal introduction to the SCA, should any brand new people attend.  If you are new, you need not bring anything specific with you.  However, you can bring fabric with you, which we can discuss with you and work out possible costume patterns and idea.  If you are not quite at that stage yet, we will also have books and pictures that you can look at and choose what you would like your first costume to be like.  Weather permitting, there may also be combat practice across the street in Rudd Park as well.

4 pm Baronial Court

Duck and Drake will open immediately following court for a Dinner social - Bring yoyur own food. There will be munchies ( bread and nuts) upon the tables.
 
“Upstairs in the hall, will be the Mask ball starting at 630 sharp.
Downstairs will be a Tavern, run by the lovely Anna Jane, perhaps with game boards should people decide to bring them, socilaizing , candlelight (oh la la).

“The ball will consist of Dance cards, and dances set in timed blocks. See Schedule below
For those who do not know the dances, there will be 30 minutes of Teaching from 530 to 6
