Their Excellencies Shannon and Regina, Baron
and Baroness of Vulcanfeldt invite you to join them for the annual
Folklife Festival Demo, Saturday, July 9, at Franklin Park in
Yakima, Washington. Site opens at 9 AM on Saturday and closes
at 5 PM Saturday. There is no site fee for this
event.
Festivities will begin with opening court at
11 AM, followed by heavy and rapier tournaments throughout the
day. Armor inspection for heavy fighters will begin
immediately following opening court, rapier inspection to follow
the heavy tournament.
Arts & Sciences~ to all interested, we
will be having a people’s choice competition throughout the
day. We will assign each display a number and throughout the
day, our guests, non-sca participants, will ‘vote’ for
their favorite display. Their Excellencies will award prizes
at closing court. We will have a few tables available for
your arts/sciences, however if you have a large display or are
unsure if we will have adequate accommodations please bring a
display area.
Things to remember: This is a dry site;
there is not a site fee, no parking on the grass. The Yakima
Folklife Festival provides a variety of entertainment, including
concerts and karaoke, along with food and merchant vendors.
In addition to the refreshments and food available at the vendors,
the autocrats will provide, for a nominal fee, sandwiches, and
refreshments for SCA participants.

Take your best route to Yakima. From I82,
take exit 34, Nob Hill Blvd. Go West on Nob Hill approximately 2.6
miles to S. 16th Avenue. Go North/Right to Tieton Drive. Turn
West/Left onto Tieton Drive. The Museum is 4 blocks ahead on your
Right. You will see the Village set up just West of the Museum
along Tieton Drive.
