Daffodil Tourney

The Daffodil may bloom in many different shades, so too do the prestigious tournaments of Seagirt to elevate the current Defenders successors.  Come join Their Excellencies Ming and Elina, the Baron & Baroness of Seagirt, as they host the grand tournaments and witness the selection of Seagirt's Defender (armoured combat), Captain of the Grenadiers (rapier), and Marksman of Seagirt (archery).  Other activities for the day will include: youth A&S, a costume contest and an A&S competition (a daffodil in any medium).

All this will be followed by a delectable feast, the menu is as follows: 

PLEASE NOTE: The ingredient list is posted on the Seagirt Web site, thank you for your patience!

First remove: A variety of bread sliced with a side of butter, pickles, cheese.

Second remove: Salad

Third Remove: Pottage

Fourth Remove: Venison stew

Fifth Remove: Roasted root vegetables.

Sixth Remove: Chicken drumsticks on a bed of rice

Seventh Remove: Apple crumble pie

PLEASE NOTE: 

YOUR EVENT TICKET WILL BE STAMPED UPON ENTRY AT GATE.

YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO ENTER TOURNAMENTS OR CONTESTS IF YOU SHOW YOUR *STAMPED* EVENT TICKET TO LISTS OR CONTEST COORDINATORS! PLEASE BRING YOUR TICKET WITH YOU AND KEEP IT ON YOUR PERSON AT ALL TIMES!

Children under 12                          no charge

Make cheques payable to "Barony of Seagirt".  NMS rules apply and $5.00 will be charged to non-members.  All feast (onboard) tickets are pre purchased and the cut off for ticket sales will be March 4, 2011.

A. Qualification Round
To encourage Period participation
- Using Period equipment (able to qualify for An Tir Period shoot) 2 points
- Period Garb (documented) 2 points


Wand shoot – 3 arrows each
- Top 1/3 scores - 2 points
- Middle 1/3 scores - 1 point
- Bottom 1/3 – scores - 0 points
Bows shoot at 2" wand, Crossbows shoot at 1" wand


Arrow Loop shoot – 3 arrows each
- Top 1/3 scores - 2 points
- Middle 1/3 scores - 1 point
- Bottom 1/3 scores - 0 points
Bows shoot at 6" loop, Crossbows at 4" loops.


Duck hunting – 3 arrows each (ducks on the butt)
- Top 1/3 scores - 2 points
- Middle 1/3 scores - 1 point
- Bottom 1/3 scores - 0 points
Bows shoot at ducks, Crossbows shoot at Quail.
Approx Bottom 1/3 of total points for qualifying rounds is eliminated. (head to head shoot off to break ties to create double elim field) Field rounded to even multiples of 2......

B. Double Elimination Round – 6 arrows each – head to head – period target. Bows shoot at 60cm Crossbows shoot at 40 cm.
C. FINALS – best two out of three ends – 6 arrows each – period target – green and yellow rings only
Bows shoot at 60cm Crossbows shoot at 40 cm.

Directions to Site:

From mainland: Take the best route to the Tssawassen-Swartz Bay ferry to Victoria (20 minutes North of Blaine border crossing). Exit ferry at Swartz Bay, follow Highway 17 south until you reach Mt Newton X

Rd. (Waddling Dog). Turn right, pass the Prairie Inn at E Saanich Rd. Take next left, Wallace Dr. Follow Wallace to Stelly's X Rd. Turn right. Site is 1/4 mile on your right.

From Coho ferry:
turn left out of ferry terminal, stay on this road - becomes Blanshard St and then Highway 17. Follow to Mt. Newton X
Road, follow instruction above.

From up Island, follow Highway 1 to McKenzie Road, turn left. Take
exit on right to Highway 17 (ferries) and follow instructions above.
