The Shire
of Danescombe would like to invite the populace of An Tir to
join Their Royal Majesties and witness the competition to choose the new Arts
& Sciences and Bardic Champions. The Artisans and Bards of your Kingdom have
created great things for you to see and hear, come and be amazed by
their skill and dilegance to their crafts! In addition
to the competitions for the Championships there will be single
entry displays, and a children’s display/presentation
area. Their is also space for a
fight practice, both heavy and rapier, as long as the weather
cooperates.
The event
will occur at The Shatford Center located at 760 Main St,
Penticton, BC. There is plenty of parking, the site is
completely wheelchair accessible and assistance animals are
welcome. Within walking distance there is large selection of
food and coffee establishments.
There is
space for merchants at the event, please contact the autocrat with
space requirements.
Site Fee is
$15 for adults (NMS will be in effect), $10 for 13yrs –
18yrs, 12yrs and under are free. Mundane family cap of
$45.
Smoking
areas will be designated outside due to mundane
laws.
US Cash will be accepted
at gate at par but US Cheques are not accepted because of the
processing fees.
The schedule is still
pending TRM approval but here are some important times and
information for entrants and judges.
7:30am – site opens for
merchants and full entrants ONLY (and royals if they really want up
that early)
8:00am – site opens for single entrants
and judges and minions etc
9:00 am – site opens for
everyone ANDJudges and entrants
meeting
9:30 – Morning court for all entrants

I have confirmed the hotel
rates for Kingdom A&S and Bardic in the Shire of Danescombe
(Penticton, BC).
The Hotel is 7 blocks from the site. It is the closest hotel
to the site and a lovely walk or quick drive away. There are many
places to grab coffee and food between the two locations.
There are three rates depending
on your view and they are all for standard double occupancy:
Parkview: $94 plus tax
Beachview: $104 plus tax
Lakeview: $114 plus tax
Parking is $5 per day.
The default will be for the least expensive until they all book up
and then it will go up from there unless you request different
accomodations.
There are MANY hotels around the city. This is simply the closest
one and we have dealt with them in the past.
To get the rates please book under Society for Creative
Anachronism.
If you are flying in the closest airport is Penticton. You can also
fly into Kelowna and we can arrange a ride but it is an hour away
so please let us know if that is what you choose to do.

Directions to Site:
Directions: Make your best way to
Penticton, BC. From the North you arrive in Penticton
on Eckhardt Ave. Stay on this road until you cross the
intersection at Main St. Less than one block farther is the
parking lot for the Penticton Secondary School on the right hand
side. This is the parking lot that we will use for the
event. Please follow the signs to gate. From the
South: come on Skaha Lake Rd. Stay on this road as it
curves to the left and turns into Main St. Continue to follow
this road for approximately 10 minutes as it drives through the
city. It will turn into a one way street. The next
intersection is Eckhardt Ave. Turn right on Eckhardt Ave and
travel for less than a block, turn right into the parking lot for
Penticton Secondary School. Follow the signs for
gate.

It will be for the site if the site can be found, but this again is not always the case, and if the site is some distance from the branch then the weather may be different.
