Guide to the Reign

PROCLAMATION

We believe the strength of the Society is based upon the people who participate in its events and the Societies' Medieval organization, not upon its governing bodies. We therefore feel it is neccessary to make a statement which outlines the relarionship between these governing bodies and the membership at large. In order to stress that the governing bodies derive their power from the Society at large, as the King derives His power from the people, We make the following Proclamation:

"We, the Crown of An Tir, do hereby cede that portion of Our sovereign power encompassing Our relationship with the modern authorities, to the Board of Directors of the modern entity known as the 'Society for Creative Anachronism, Incorporated.' With Our advice and consent, We do make this cession of Our Sovereign powers freely for the duration of Our reign and for so long as the Board of Directors of the 'Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.', in its use of these ceded powers does nothing inimical or destructive to the well-being, orderly governance or honor of Ourselves, our subjects or Our Kingdom."

Proclaimed on this day, January 11th. Anno Societatus XXXI,

DARIUS REX AN TIR
MORGAINE REGINA AN TIR
